Rahul Gandhi’s Comments on Shah Spark Economic Debate in Lok Sabha

by admin477351

Tensions flared in the Lok Sabha when Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition, accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of sanctioning the use of force against students protesting over the NEET paper leak. Gandhi alleged that the authorization to use pellets against these students came from the highest levels of government, a claim that drew strong objections from members of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In response to Gandhi’s allegations, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju called for evidence to substantiate the claims. Rijiju described the remarks as baseless and urged that they be stricken from the official record. He further demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi, emphasizing that such serious accusations should not be made without concrete proof.

The debate escalated when Gandhi directed criticism towards the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), employing language that Speaker Om Birla later deemed “unparliamentary.” These comments were subsequently removed from the official parliamentary proceedings, adding another layer to the already charged atmosphere.

This heated exchange highlights the political tensions surrounding the NEET paper leak controversy. The confrontation in parliament reflects the broader discord between the opposition and the ruling party, as both sides grapple with the implications of the allegations.
