From September 17, the Delhi government is set to initiate the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan, a comprehensive welfare and infrastructure campaign announced by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. This month-long program aims to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25-year journey in public service by unveiling and laying foundations for projects valued at approximately ₹13,800 crore throughout the city.

The campaign will encompass a variety of community-focused activities, including blood donation camps, health check-ups tailored for senior citizens, and initiatives for cleaning the Yamuna River. Additionally, it will offer registration opportunities for various government welfare schemes in all 70 of Delhi’s assembly constituencies. A significant highlight is the mega blood donation camp scheduled for September 17, with an ambitious target of collecting 2,500 units of blood. Alongside, the campaign will create awareness around organ donation and host health camps specifically for the elderly.

Investment in the Yamuna River features prominently in the campaign, with projects worth ₹8,000 crore expected to launch. Moreover, recognition will be given to over 4,000 Anganwadi and ASHA workers for their contributions. The initiative also includes programs targeting students and youth across an estimated 5,000 schools, featuring painting and speech competitions, as well as an innovation challenge aimed at fostering ideas for a progressive India.

The Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan will see a diverse range of projects, including ₹8,000 crore allocated to Delhi Jal Board initiatives, ₹2,800 crore to Public Works Department projects, ₹1,500 crore to power sector developments, ₹365 crore to irrigation and flood-control efforts, and an additional ₹77 crore dedicated to tourism projects. This ambitious campaign seeks not only to enhance infrastructure but also to engage the community in meaningful ways.
