Wang Yi articulated China’s vision of working alongside India to promote multipolarity in the international arena, aiming to bolster the representation and interests of developing countries. He reiterated China’s support for India’s role as the host of the BRICS summit this year and expressed a desire for deeper collaboration within the expanded framework of BRICS, a coalition of emerging economies.
From the Indian perspective, Minister Jaishankar reaffirmed India’s commitment to nurturing a constructive and cooperative relationship with China. He reiterated India’s established positions regarding Taiwan and Xizang (Tibet), affirming respect for China’s sovereignty over these regions.
