Brad Pitt is set to reprise his role as Cliff Booth, the enigmatic stuntman from Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 hit Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, in a new spin-off film directed by David Fincher. The project, titled The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, is a Netflix production that will take viewers on a journey through the evolving landscape of the film industry as seen through Booth’s eyes. The film is designed for both the big screen and home viewers, with a global IMAX release slated for November 25, followed by availability on Netflix starting December 23.

Quentin Tarantino, the original creator of Cliff Booth, has penned the screenplay for this sequel but will not be directing the film. Despite his interest in Booth’s character, Tarantino has previously expressed a desire to avoid directing sequels as part of his final projects. Set in the year 1977, the narrative picks up eight years after the conclusion of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, delving deeper into Booth’s life and his adaptation to a transformed Hollywood landscape.

The film boasts a star-studded cast alongside Pitt, including Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis, and Karren Karagulian. The original film placed Pitt alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie, capturing the essence of Los Angeles in the late 1960s, a period rich in cultural and cinematic history.

With David Fincher at the helm, the film promises a unique creative direction. Known for his work on critically acclaimed films such as Fight Club, Zodiac, The Social Network, and Gone Girl, Fincher brings his signature style to this project. His previous collaborations with Netflix, including the series House of Cards and Mindhunter, have been well-received, positioning him as a fitting choice to direct this spin-off.

The collaboration between Tarantino’s storytelling and Fincher’s directorial acumen marks an intriguing reunion for Pitt and his character. While Tarantino has established a legacy with films like Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, Django Unchained, and The Hateful Eight, Fincher’s involvement ensures a fresh perspective on the beloved character of Cliff Booth, enticing both fans of the original film and new audiences alike.
