In a significant update aimed at enhancing service efficiency and transparency, the Indian diplomatic missions in the United Arab Emirates have launched a revamped system for handling passport, visa, and attestation services. This new initiative allows applicants to directly book their appointments via an official online portal, eliminating the need for any booking fees.
The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi, along with the Consulate General of India in Dubai, has taken steps to manage consular services directly through their respective offices. This move is designed to streamline the application process, boost operational efficiency, and curtail unauthorised charges that applicants might encounter through third-party services.
Officials have emphasized the importance of using the official online portal for booking appointments related to passport, visa, and attestation services. They have cautioned applicants against paying any individuals, agencies, or intermediaries who claim to provide appointment bookings or expedited services on behalf of the Indian missions, as these claims are not legitimate.
The missions have issued warnings to the public about organisations or representatives falsely claiming to be officially authorised to offer appointment services. They urge individuals who feel they have been misled, overcharged, or misrepresented to report such incidents using the official contact points provided by the Embassy or Consulate.
Indian nationals residing in the UAE and travellers are strongly advised to seek information about consular services only through official communications and verified platforms. This approach will help them avoid potential fraud and unnecessary expenses related to consular services.
